El Oasis Orphanage in Valle Trinidad has been the focus of the Baja riders Mission project in Mexico since 1996. At that time, the property had one building and one group home. Today the site hosts 10 group homes, an Edu-Center, administrative building and the original hall. Baja riders funded and built a basketball court, a play ground, planted over 400 fruit and shade trees and installed over 2.5 miles of underground irrigation. 2003-2006 Malcolm Smith Motorsports Foundation Funded and built a new Edu-Center on the campus, a focal point for activities and learning!
2007-2008 the Foundation funded all the education for every child. This included books, uniforms, tuition, transportation and Room and board for those at High school and University boarding schools! 2009 the foundation continues to fund education at the higher levels for all children at El Oasis.
MSMS Foundation also provides high speed wireless internet to the campus, as well as to visitors to the campus 'Hot Spot" parking areas. Maintenance for the facility is provided by MSMS Foundation.
2009, December. Purchased and installed a new solar pump system to assist in water deliver and reduce the electricity consumption, currently running in excess of $3,000 per month!
